What do I need to get a web site listed on KigUP?

Use the Add Request page and please provide all required information. If your website does not offer RSS/ATOM it can not be included in the live updates on the main page. Instead, all Non-RSS websites will have a link for them placed on the Non-RSS page.

What feed protocols are supported?

KigUP supports RSS and ATOM.

I do not have RSS or ATOM. How do I add it to my website?

The easiest way is to install a blog script that has the RSS/ATOM broadcasting feature built into it. Otherwise you will have to manually code that feature into your website. You can search for blog scripts that you may like on HotScripts.com. Be sure to back up all of your news/updates, or archive them. The blog script will not automatically save anything.

Another, but more complex, way to get RSS/ATOM on your website is to use a CMS (content management system) to redo your entire website. Examples of these are Drupal, WordPress, and DragonFly. CMS scripts manage your entire website and offer many exciting features and upgrades you can make with a few steps. Be sure to back up all of your data before trying to install a CMS, it will not save your data for you.

What multimedia are supported?

All image formats, YouTube, Daily Motion, USTREAM, and Nico Nico Douga.

How does KigUP determine what image or video to use in the listing?

The first image or video found is automatically used.

What browsers are supported?

Gecko based browsers, Firefox 2, 3 and 3.5
Internet Explorer 7 and 8
Opera 8, 9 and 10
WebKit based browsers, Safari 1.2, 2, 3, 4
Google Chrome.

Why is KigUP! broken in Internet Explorer 6?

IE6 is no longer support by the majority of web sites on the internet. If you have Windows XP you can upgrade to IE7 for free from Microsoft's web site.
